Ajivasan is now set to present an instrumental of fusion of nine pristine jewels, Mystique Beats on 16 July, 2017 at Shankmukhanand Hall. Zakir Hussain (Tabla), Taufiq Quereshi (percussion), Niladri Kumar (Zitar) along with seven artists comprising of Indian classical drummers of South and North traditions namely Vijay Chavan(Dholki), Anantha R Krishnan (Mridangam), Navin Sharma ( Punjabi Gharana Table Player), Sabir Khan (Sarangi), Darshan Doshi (Drums) and M.R Vasudevan (Tavil) will present the fusion.
Honourable HRD minister Mr. Prakash Javadekar will grace the occasion with his presence as the Chief Guest and will announce 100% free scholarships to underprivileged kids who will be entitled to learn music free of cost at Acharya Jialal Vasant Sangeet Niketan (AJIVASAN).
This is for the first time a performance with drums from many different rhythm traditions will be showcased. The profits of the show will be donated to the NGO, Acharya Jialal Vasant Sangeet Niketan (AJIVASAN) to empower and teach music to the underprivileged kids.
Zakir Hussain, talking about his association with Ajivasan, reveals, “My association with Suresh bhai, Guruji (Jiyalalji) and the institute dates back almost 40 years. My father and Guruji are from the same region of India and were very close friends and colleagues, myself and Suresh bhai competed in music competitions since we were teenagers. Suresh bhai has presented to Guruji an unparalleled guru dakshina He not only carried on his Guru’s teachings but has also immortalised his presence in the form of Ajivasan; one of India’s finest institute of art learning. I feel blessed to be a part of this celebration.”
Dr. Suresh Wadkar said, “It is our goal to connect with individuals and confer traditional music learning in all its immaculateness to all music lovers and fans, crosswise over age gatherings.
